Mean Jean and all of the Ft. Wayne Derby Girls will be skating in the 3 Rivers Festival parade tomorrow morning! After the parade, come to our FREE bout starting at 1pm @ the Tin Caps parking lot on Clinton & Calhoun by Mike's Car Wash!


 

 

  Ridin' Derby June 19th!  
 

We are teaming up with Wellspring Interfaith Social Services to host the 2nd annual RIDIN' DERBY on Saturday, June 19, at Elegant Occasions. This event will support Wellspring Interfaith Social Services in Fort Wayne and Taylor's Dream, Boundless Playground for all Northeast Indiana families with and without disabilities.

The event includes a 104-mile 'Fun Run' sponsored by ROCK 104 and a Car, Truck and Bike show to be held at Elegant Occasions, located at 14722 Lima Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Enjoy live music with the locally renowned band, Deuce. Rock band, Kill The Rabbit, takes the stage at 9:30. The benefit event will also include corn hole, hillbilly horseshoes, full-contact musical chairs, a dunk tank and kids activities, such as moonwalks, clowns, games and more.

Admission for this event is only $3, and children ages 15 and under are free. Fun Ride and Show participants receive free admission.

  Spring Roll 2010 Recap  
 

What a day it was! On Saturday, May 8, 5 women’s teams, 6 men’s teams and 4 junior teams converged at the Coliseum for a full day of roller derby action. The Detroit Derby Girls took home the championship for the women on the WFTDA track, and the Puget Sound Outcast won it for the men in a nail-biting bout against St. Louis’ Gatekeepers. Thanks to all the teams, fans and volunteers who supported this event and made it a success.

  Fort Wayne Derby Girls Split in Front of a Large Crowd  
 

(April 19, 2010) On Saturday, April 17, the Fort Wayne Derby Girls hosted their 4th and final bout of the 2010 season at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in front of a large crowd. 1,100 fans came out to support the local non-profit sports organization. While the SWAT Team was defeated by Rockford Rage, the Bomb Squad beat the Gem City All Stars with a commanding performance. SWAT Team was defeated by Rockford Rage from Rockford, IL with a score of 49 to 117, and the Bomb Squad crushed the Gem City ALL Stars from Dayton, OH 244 to 29.

 
  Fort Wayne Derby Girls Beat Bleeding Heartland  
 

(The Fort Wayne Derby Girls faced against the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls from Bloomington in live double-header, roller derby action on Saturday, March 27, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. In the opening bout, the SWAT Team squeaked by the Bleeding Heartland’s Code Blue Assassins 67-61. For the main event the nationally ranked Bomb Squad rolled over Bleeding Heartland’s Flatliners 149-48.

  Fort Wayne Derby Girls Double Header Sell Out Bout!  
 

The Feb 13th Valentine Day weekend double header with the SWAT Team vs. Circle City Socialites, Indianapolis, IN - Bomb Squad vs. Hammer City, Hamilton, ON had a record turn out as the venue completely sold out with lines outside the doors. Our latest online bout cast was a big success as well with watching leagues from England and Australia. More to come including video.

  2010 Season Opener  
 

On Saturday, January 9, the Fort Wayne Derby Girls hosted their 1st bout of the 2010 season at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and drew a record crowd for their organization. 1,600 fans came out to support the local non-profit sports organization, beating the previous record of 1,400 in February 2009. Though both the SWAT Team and the nationally ranked Bomb Squad fell to their opponents on Saturday night, the skaters feel proud of their accomplishments. 
 
Tickets are now on sale for all remaining bouts at the Coliseum.
