On Saturday, May 3, the Bomb Squad hosted the BrewCity Bruisers from Milwaukee, Wis. @ the PLEX in Fort Wayne. Coming off a tough loss against Cincy last month, the Bomb Squad came out ready to play hard and did so from the very beginning. Heading into half time with a nice 8 point lead, it seemed the team had finally come together and found their groove.
The Bomb Squad maintained its lead throughout the 2nd period, as well, until some jammer penalties put them at a disadvantage and BrewCity fought back. With 4 minutes to go, the Bomb Squad's once 15 point lead had dwindled to 4. A few more low scoring jams back and forth saw a one point game with 1:12 left to go (BrewCity led for the first time all night). Bomb Squad jammer Pushycat went to the jammer line to fight for the win, but unfortunately, a cutting the track penalty forced her to the box and BrewCity successfully put 7 points on the board.
Final score: 63-55 in favor of BrewCity.
Thanks to all the fans and visiting rollergirls from Naptown and Glass City who came out to see the bout. It was an exciting night of roller derby.

04.20.08- Results from 1st Home Bout of the 08 Season
Last night marked the beginning of our 3rd season and the place was packed! Thank you to all the fans who came out to cheer us on. The bout was amazing. Our group of newbies impressed everyone and our seasoned skaters stepped up like never before.
The game was tight the entire time as the Guns and Harmers traded leads all throughout the first period. Heading into halftime, the Harmers led by only 2 points. The second half was equally exciting until the Harmers finally pulled away after a HUGE jam from RIPtide as the Guns jammer sat in the box.
Final score 124-104.
More detailed stats and bout recap to come.

On Saturday, April 12, The Bomb Squad and Fort Wayne's Flyin' Squirrels traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Black Sheep and the Silent Lambs.
The first bout, featuring the Flyin Squirrels vs. the Silent Lambs, was an exciting bout. In the second half, the Squirrels surged ahead and never looked back, outscoring the Lambs 40 to 16 to win the bout 73 to 55. Enya Grave led the Squirrels in scoring, putting 48 big ones on the board. Oreo SlamHER, Enya Grave and Strawberry POUNDcake were awarded MVPs of the bout.
The Bomb Squad wasn't so lucky. In their first bout of the 08 season, they fell to the Black Sheep 100 to 35. Making her travel team debut, RIPtide led the Bomb Squad in scoring, contributing 15 points. RIPtide and Pink PAINther were awarded MVPs of the bout.
